State Rep. Sam Azzinaro Named Legislator Of The Year By Southern League

Rhode Island State Representative Samuel A. Azzinaro was named the 2020 RI Southern League Legislator Of The Year during the League's Annual Legislator's Night on Monday January 20 at Richmond Country Club. Rep. Azzinaro a Democrat who serves District 37 in Westerly was first elected in 2008. Sam is a constant supporter of the fire & EMS Service. He has introduced legislation on behalf of the fire service in the past and recently signed on to assist with the RI Fire Chiefs Home Sprinkler "Check The Box" legislation. He also was a strong advocate and supporter of the RI Firefighter Memorial recently opened in Exeter at the RI Fire Academy.

During the past year, Westerly celebrated their 350th Anniversary. At every opportunity Sam would be sure to mention how Blessed he felt to reside in a community served by our dedicated volunteer fire & EMS providers. Sam has been a constant supporter during his time in elected office both on the Westerly Town Council and in the State House.
