An overview of the best practices when using a chainsaw in the wildland!
This training will be an overview of basic chainsaw operations & safety. Chainsaws are a common and necessary tool used to fight wildfires. It is also a dangerous tool that is commonly misused. The class will educate firefighters on common mishandlings of chainsaws. The goal is to demonstrate proper safety procedures and use of saws. DEM hopes this training builds interest from individual departments to participate in their complete full day chainsaw safety class where students can handle saws and demonstrate safety procedures!
